Art – members of the Great Falls Studios

Open between March 14 to April 8, 2017

Ashburn and Great Falls are both small towns that attract artists to live and create their art. Asking Artist to produce from their hearts and forge an art piece that evokes the theme of “home.” is the theme of this year’s exhibit. What do they come up with? A person, building, or perhaps a childhood hiding place where they went to dream of the future. Could it be the aroma of Mom’s apple pie cooking or a pair of red ruby slippers? You must stop by the exhibit put on by members of Great Falls Studios, and see if you can find a home.

This diverse group of potters, jewelry artist, painters, photographers, sculptors, fiber artists, and others representing a wide variety of media. Their membership is open to artists working in their studios, and for non-artist ‘friends.’ Friends are those that join the artists in promoting a growing arts movement in Northern Virginia.

Great Falls Studios aids the artistic undertaking of the artists through a network of communication among its members. They hold meetings, try and nurture the artistic growth of all artists. The GFS also produces the traditional monthly themed Virtual Gallery located on their website. GFS arranges monthly several annual group exhibitions as well as solo art exhibits. One success of
GFS is the ArtFest sales at The Grange, and their signature Annual Studio Tour in October, all enabling art lovers to experience art in our Great Falls Community just outside of Washington DC.

GFS supports other charities, the Friends of the Great Falls Library, community organizations, and of course the art education in local schools. Plus, they allot a portion of sales to promote art for all ages in Great Falls. For more information and to view work by Great Falls Studio artists, visit their website at
